WHY don't Blackburn Council go the whole hog and demolish Blackburn completely, replacing it with a ring road?
They could always place a plaque in the middle stating: "The historic market town of Blackburn, mentioned in the Domesday Book and known worldwide for its cotton trade, once stood here."
People could just then drive right round, or straight through, what was once Blackburn and go shopping in much cleaner and attractive towns such as Preston or Bolton.
But, come to think of it, don't people do that anyway?
