MEMBERS of the Newton Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society (NADOS) have received national long-service awards for services to amateur dramatics. Kevin O'Leary was presented with a 35-year silver bar; Joyce Thompson received a 25-year long service medal and badges were received by Sandra Key (20 years); John Barham (15 years); and Vicky Dilworth, Rita Barham and Lyn Roby (all 10 years). Also on the same night the following members received Junior Certificates for services to amateur dramatics from NODA - Jenny Whitaker, Luci Barham and Michael McCaw (six years); Layton McCarthy (four years); and Jean Gardner, Alison Harvey, John Tither and Alison Wakefield (all three years).
