WITH regard to your story on Steve Preston (LET, August 19), it was obvious that Mark Templeton was not at King George's Hall for the show.

If he had been, he would have seen a sell-out crowd spell-bound by his performance and a full standing ovation that was so well deserved.

Yes, Elvis has passed on, but the King 's crown is perfectly safe in the capable hands of Steve Preston.

An elderly lady sitting near me said: "I was an Elvis fan, but never saw him live, until tonight and I can't believe it isn't the man himself.

Long may Steve keep the memory going. He has been called "Britain's premier Elvis stylist" and, with a Royal Variety Show behind him, who are we to argue?
