GED Furey won his third Lancashire Open in a row and fourth in all with a blistering four-under-par final round of 68 at Heron's Reach.

The Pleasington professional came from two back off overnight leader Craig Corrigan to beat the Warrington professional by three.

"It puts me in a great frame of mind to go for my Tour card," said Furey, who travels to San Roque next month for the European Tour's final qualifier.

Furey opened with two birdies which immediately put Corrigan under pressure.

The Warrington man double-bogeyed the second, resulting in a four-shot swing in two holes, and never recovered.

Furey matched his two-under-par front nine on the back nine to finish five ahead of fourth-placed Jeff Mathews of Blackburn Driving Range who shot a level-par round of 72 for a two-round two-over-par total of 146.

Clitheroe assistant professional Simon Eaton shot 74 to finish eighth on 149, two ahead of Burnley's Paul McEvoy who shot 76.

Accrington and District's Damian Taylor finished 18th after a closing 77 (152), Clitheroe professional John Twissell fired 76 (153) for 23rd spot and Blackburn's Dominic Fitzgerald had a closing 81 (159) to take 36th place.
