A JOINER who lost two fingers in an accident with a circular saw has been discharged from the Royal Preston Hospital.

Peter Ryan, 40, is now recovering at home in Lindadale Close, Accrington.

His wife, Teresa, said: "He's all right but a bit sore and doing a lot of sleeping."

Mr Ryan sliced into his hand while sawing through frozen dog meat in the garage of his home last Thursday teatime.

He underwent surgery at Preston to pin his little finger and splint another one.

The father-of-three is due back at the hospital on Thursday.

Mrs Ryan said: "The pinned one I assume they have saved, and they will be having a look at the splinted one when they take his bandage off and re-dress his hand.

"We won't really get to know anything until then."
