A CASH-STRAPPED council faced having to pay £330,000 to put homeless families into bed and breakfast accommodation because there was nowhere else for them to live.
Hyndburn Council had to turn to hotels and guest houses to keep people off the streets as there were too few council houses to go round. The problem had spiralled beyond all expectations.
