TYLDESLEY RU beat much-improved Dukinfield 21-13.

Dukinfield, coached by Castleford's Mike Ford, had former Leigh star John Henderson and two Oldham RL players in their ranks - and it showed.

Playing against the elements in the first half, Tyldesley worked hard to secure possession and were rewarded with a 70-metre try from Berrisford after good work from Hulley and Brown, who added the conversion.

The home side hit back with a converted try and two penalties.

But Tyldesley swept ahead on a Cunliffe try converted by Brown.

Dukinfield started the second half on the attack but good defence from Wallbank, Worsfold and Plimley kept them out.

Tyldesley rounded off the scoring with a Corbett TD.
