GRATEFUL Gemma Jones has been reunited with the 'mystery postman' who helped her to get a new job - thanks to the Star.

Gemma, who originally comes from Yorkshire, issued a plea through our columns in a bid to track down the postie who went out of his way to help when she got lost en route to a job interview at Nijman/Zeetank in Washway Lane, Haresfinch.

Lost in deepest Parr, the 20-year-old called into the post office to ask directions and the helpful postman cut short his rounds to show her the way with Gemma following behind in her own car.

She arrived in the nick of time and managed to land the job as well - then realised that she had forgotten to ask the postman's name!

But after the story appeared in the Star, Craig Burrows came forward to reveal himself as Gemma's very own 'Good Samaritan.'

Craig, an amateur Rugby League player with Pilkington Recs, said: "When Gemma said where she wanted to go I thought it would probaby be better if I showed her the way myself rather than giving her directions, so I just got in my van and she followed on behind. It was lucky actually because my round has since been changed so I am back on foot now and I wouldn't have been able to help."
