THERE are high marks for Heasandford School following an Ofsted inspection of the Burnley county primary.

A glowing report by the standards squad spotlights the high level of education provision, high quality of teaching, pupils' good progress and concludes that Heasandford provides good value for money.

Inspectors say that in every lesson observed, teaching was sound.

They state: "..the high quality of teaching has been and remains a key factor in raising levels of attainment, was a major strength of the school and underpinned the very good quality of education."

There is praise for the school's links with family and the community and the excellent relationships throughout the school.

The standards team praised the strong ethos for providing a supportive environment in which spiritual education was good and pupils' moral, social and cultural development was very good.

Ofsted found the school was efficiently and effectively managed, with headmaster Colin Armstrong providing strong leadership and clear educational direction, ably supported by the senior management team and all staff.

Chairman of Governors Janet Pickup said: "This is a tremendous Ofsted report which recognises the hard work and excellence of staff, governors, pupils and parents.

"I am delighted by the many positive remarks Inspectors have made.

We have put a great deal of effort into providing the highest quality education and this report is a wonderful accolade," she added.
