Wide midfield player Stuart Gelling, who helped the club gain promotion to the Unibond League, looks certain to return on a free transfer from Accrington.
And he could be joined by striker Tony McDonald from strugglers Radcliffe Borough who was in negotiations with new boss Alan Tinsley yesterday.
Assistant Manager Mick Hoyle said: "We are looking to strengthen the team in other departments as well."
