COPIES of the latest psychological thriller by East Lancashire authoress Josephine Cox were snapped up at a book signing session at W H Smith in Blackburn on Saturday.

Josephine, who has written the fifth in a series of thriller books under her mother's name Jane Brindle, signed copies of The Seeker at the store in Lord's Square.

She also visited her brother Bernard at his pub, the Corporation, where she handed prizes out after a quiz on Friday night. She was filmed and later interviewed for a programme for Cable television. Josephine said: "I have a certain readership for the Josephine Cox books so I felt I needed to change my name for this new series of books which have a different style. They are psychological thrillers and a bit more sinister."

Josephine's books are translated into 19 different languages and sold world wide.

She said: "It is hard to believe that a snotty-nosed kid who was brought up in the back streets of Blackburn is now an authoress and selling millions of copies across the world."
