Labour's recently launched Welfare to Work proposals sound strange coming from a party whose other policies will mean the destruction of jobs. Plans to introduce a national minimum wage will mean the loss of jobs all over the country and signing up to the European Social Chapter could mean the imposition of job destroying measures on British business. If Mr Blair is, as he claims, committed to promoting enterprises and competition then he must abandon his minimum wage plan and other ideas that threaten British industry before it is too late. If he does not do so, then it will be clearer than ever that New Labour are bad for business and bad for Britain.
