LEE Carter of Gray Avenue, Haydock, has pleaded not guilty at Liverpool Crown Court to the murder of 19-month-old Nicole Goodwin.
Carter (23) also denied causing grievous bodily harm to the baby, but pleaded guilty to two charges of perverting the course of justice.
Nicole's mother Michelle Goodwin (29) pleaded not guilty to two charges of perverting the course of justice. Carter was remanded in custody and Goodwin was released on police bail.
