A GIRLS' seven-a-side football competition was held at Hyndburn Sports Centre to celebrate International Women's Week. The under 12s tournament was won by Peel Park Primary School, Accrington, and the runners-up were Huncoat Primary School.
They were presented with cups for the school, and individual trophies for the players, by Carole Towler, chairperson of Great Harwood Town Junior Football Club.
She organised the competition with the sports centre, on behalf of Hyndburn Women's Forum. Other schools who took part were Hippings Methodist and St Andrew's, both Oswaldtwistle, and St Mary Magdalen's, Accrington.
