NEIL Abel could be watching from the stands on Sunday when Lancashire Hawks take on Peterborough Pirates at the Arena (face-off 6pm).

Veteran defenceman Abel could face official ice hockey suspension following an incident against Cardiff Rage last weekend when he mistakenly knocked an official to the floor in a heated encounter with an opposing player on the ice.

Ironically, it was Abel's first full game for weeks - the player having spent several weeks on the treatment table suffering with lacebite.

Arena officials are still waiting to hear whether Hawks will receive a two point default award if Rage cannot host their return leg at Cardiff.

Full preview in tomorrow's Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
