WITH regard to the concern over the possibility of the closures of the Shadsworth leisure centre and Daisyfield pool in Blackburn, the main reason why these facilities are at risk is because the true cost of keeping "Waves" open will put other pools in jeopardy.
With the running costs/losses of this "fun" pool estimated at £1,000 per day at opening, they are probably now nearer £2,000 per day!
This "jewel" is apparently safe as it would look such a mess boarded up - or would it?
