By that time Weaverham had raced into an 18-nil lead, before the Mel Griffiths man of the match, Grimshaw, sent centre Horton in at the corner for UG. By by half-time Weaverham led 30-4. After the break UG tightened their defence and scored the try of the game -a 75-yard effort by Birkett.
