Wigan 14 West Park 17 PARK collected a series of injuries as they won this friendly encounter.

It started with full-back Chris Glynn who provided the ideal start to the match with the first try but then retired with a dead leg.

Wigan took full advantage of the hasty reorganisation to score a try by Ray Worthington converted by Andy Rasburn. Park, however, led at half-time with a penalty by Martin Strett.

As Park suffered injuries to both props, Steve Mannin going off with an ankle injury and Keith Hill with damaged ribs, Wigan regained the lead with another converted try by Danny Barker. Moving Phil Houlton, normally a back row forward into the front row, Park regained some composure with hooker Steven Warsley showing excellent form and although not adding to their try count managed a win by virtue of three Martin Strett penalties.
