I AM the press officer and librarian of the Jowett Car Club, the oldest one-make car club in the world. Jowett Cars were built in Bradford, West Yorkshire, from 1906 to 1953 and were Yorkshire's only mass produced car.
Javelins were sold in large numbers locally through the agents J Ainsworth and Co Ltd in Montaque Street, Blackburn. I am particularly interested in contacting ex-Javelin owners in this jubilee year who may be able to give details of their cars. Also I would be delighted to borrow any old photographs they may have to take copies for the club archive.
