AS THE only three customers left in Morrison's superstore in Blackburn at closing time the other night, we were approached by a woman member of staff offering half-price pies, pasties, etc. from a large tray.
As we all declined the 'kind' offer, I said: "Save them for the homeless," to which she replied: "I'm afraid they all go in the bin."
This, apparently, is a common practice, not just in Blackburn, but nationwide.
I am sure such items would be greatly appreciated if they were left out every night for those who find themselves without ways or means of finding decent food.
