POLICE are hunting three conmen who stole £5,000 from an 83-year-old Bury woman.
They gained entry to her Myrtle Street home on Tuesday afternoon after posing as water board officials.
However, while she was distracted, the men searched rooms before stealing a large quantity of cash, cards, benefit books and other possessions.
Police have issued descriptions of two of the men following the incident.
One of the conmen was aged 28-32, 6ft tall, of slim build with black, cropped hair. He wore a blue coat.
A second man was of similar age, 5ft 6ins tall with short, blond hair. He wore a white jacket and carried a mobile phone.
Anyone who can provide any information is asked to ring Bury police crime management unit in confidence on 856 8157.
