TEENAGE pop sensations "Alive", who featured on BBC TV's National Lottery show, are appearing at an Education 2000 event in Bury on Wednesday.

The local lads, who won Lottery funding, will be at the opening of the Bury Times-organised show at 3pm before playing to the audience later in the evening.

Education 2000 will feature nearly 40 stands from exhibitors and will provide visitors with guidance and advice on education issues as well as embracing associated areas such as uniforms, stationery equipment and a host of other items.

It is the perfect opportunity for schools, colleges and relevant businesses to come together with parents and students.

Local schools, independent schools, colleges and businesses will have the chance to promote and display their particular strengths and products to the public.

Other attractions include seminars, a performance by the Wardle High School Band and a free prize draw.

Entry to Education 2000, being staged between 3pm-9pm, is free.
