POLICE in St Helens are appealing for witnesses after reports that a group of youths threw bricks and stones from a bridge on to passing motorists.
The gang have been seen on the railway bridge on Peasley Cross Lane and police fear their actions could cause a serious accident.
Detective Sergeant Tommy Wright of the Crime Management Unit said: "These youths may think that what they are doing is a prank but we are certainly not treating it that way."
