POLICE are searching for a robber who stole a pensioner's handbag and escaped in a stolen car. He struck as the woman, in her 70s, returned to her car in Walmesley Road, Eccleston, at about 12.45pm on Monday.
He then ran off and two witnesses saw him get into a stolen C-registered, grey-coloured, Vauxhall Cavalier, which drove along Gunning Avenue.
The robber is described as white, 17 to 25 years, 5ft 10in tall, thin, with mousey-coloured hair. He was wearing a short, beige, waterproof jacket. The driver of the vehicle which the robber escaped in is described as a white man, 18 to 22 years with dark hair.
