A TOP computer firm is warning of the perils of pornography reaching schools via the Internet. The company, RM, has called for all schools to set up a code of practice to address pornography on the Internet.

But St Helens schools are one step ahead. For schools across the borough are already combatting Internet pornography with a dual system.

A spokesman for the Education Authority, said: "We do not have a specific policy to combat pornography on the Internet, but every school in the borough which is on the Internet has a 'firewall' which effectively filters out pornography.

"All pupils are also required to have an identity code number as well, so if by chance they manage to access pornography they would be discovered."
