A CONSULTANT surgeon revealed that a shortage of nurses in the Blackburn area could lead to "grave problems".
Jack Magell told Blackburn, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley health authority, which was discussing a report by the Association of Anaesthetists and the Association of Surgeons, that more money needed to be spent on nursing staff immediately, even at the expense of other plans.
