CARS belonging to supporters of a Burnley county council election candidate were damaged in what was believed to be a politically-motivated attack.

Masood Ahmed Mirza, who was standing as an Independent candidate in Burnley Central East, was meeting supporters at his campaign offices in Hebrew Road, Burnley.

The supporters came out of the building to find that the tyres of three cars bearing Mirza campaign stickers had been slashed.
