TOWNSFOLK concerned about international human rights violations are being invited to 'make their mark' at a special campaign held at the St Helens branch of The Body Shop.

The cosmetics chain have given their support to the 50th anniversary of the United Nations' Universal Declaration of Human Rights and are holding a national event, Make Your Mark in conjunction with Amnesty International at stores throughout the country. Shoppers will be asked to give their support to the Declaration by marking their thumbprints on a petition.

Make Your Mark will be launched at the St Helens shop in Church Square Shopping Centre from 11am this Saturday, May 9 and some of the first visitors will include the Mayor of St Helens and local MPs and MEPS. The campaign will run through to September and anyone interested in setting up their own Amnesty International branch for St Helens area is welcome to go along and sign up.
