MORE than 100 East Lancashire jobs were lost every week in the first half of 1993 as employment crumbled under the recession. The Lancashire Evening Telegraph's own survey of redundancy announcements showed the effects of the worst slump since the war. The blackest jobs month of 1993 was February when 1,240 jobs disappeared including 900 at truck maker Leyland Daf.
