BURNLEY today denied turning to a Manchester firm of solicitors in their bid to find new cash, writes NEIL BRAMWELL.

Sources claim the club approached Addleshaw and Booth, a firm the club has used for several years, asking for help in securing investment.

It was claimed the approach had been made "as a matter of urgency".

But club officials dismissed any contact as "on-going discussions".

The board, however, have been forced to look at new options with Peter Shackleton's bid running out of steam.

New York-based tycoon Ray Ingleby - the fans' favourite - remains keen to take control.

But chairman Frank Teasdale wants new promises before re-opening talks with Ingleby.
