WITH so many controversial subjects being raised, such as the A-board question, the numerous decisions being made on 'our behalf' on traffic-calming measures I, and I am sure many of your readers, would like to know who the various councillors are who are in favour and who are not in favour.

Without digging through the council minutes, very few of the ratepayers in this town really know what goes on and if it wasn't for the Lancashire Evening Telegraph they could have sold the town hall and we wouldn't be aware of it.

So would it be possible somewhere in your excellent paper to pick out some of the little gems and list the councillors responsible and how they voted.

We already know Andy Kay has prime responsibility for some of the wackier decisions. But who are the others? Which wards are they in? We could all then, just as the Lord High Executioner did in the Mikado, put them on a list and give them the chop at the local elections.

JAMES SAUL, Deganwy Avenue, Blackburn.

FOOTNOTE: The Labour group on Blackburn with Darwen Council has a substantial majority which translates itself on to all of the council committees.

All Labour members on the Regeneration committee voted to tighten the rules on A-boards, Conservative councillors Alan Cottam, Fred Slater and Colin Rigby voted against the proposal, as did Liberal Democrat councillor Paul Browne.
