ACCRINGTON Stanley fans will get their first glimpse of the club's impressive new cantiliver stand roof when they take on Morecambe in a friendly at the Crown.

The £50,000 construction has now benn completed and will be known as the Thwaites Smooth Stand over the next three seasons following a sponsorship deal with the Blackburn-based brewery.

The stand will be unveiled when they take on the Shrimps at the Crown on July 23.

But the highlight of the Reds' warm up campaign will be a prestigious home fixture with Premier League neighbours Blackburn Rovers on Saturday August 8.

"Rovers have agreed to send down a side and they've promised to include all those who don't play against PSV Eindoven on the Friday night," confirmed commercial manager John De-Maine.

"Hopefully it should be a strong side and we'll get a good crowd down."

Season tickets for Stanley's forthcoming UniBond League campaign are now on sale and can be purchased on weekdays at the club.
