VOLUNTEER members of St Helens and Knowsley Fire Education have been supplied with 14,000 badges to hand out to local schools - courtesy of the national Kidde Safety group.

The education team, based at Eccleston Fire Station, give talks to schools and community groups on the importance of knowing how fires can be started and what to do if you encounter one.

Sub officer Paul Watson, said: "Thanks to Kidde Safety's generous donation, we will now be able to supply each child with a badge and any school or community project interested in one of the talks can contact Eccleston Fire Station for more information."
