TOUR firms should not be allowed to scorch holidaymakers with big surcharges just before they head for the sun, said Hyndburn MP Ken Hargreaves.
He backed proposals from the Association of British Travel Agents to crack down on the sharks and said: "Tour operators should be taking tourists for holidays and not for a ride."
The proposals were aimed at cutting 90 per cent of holiday surcharges.
