A SOLICITOR has become one of the first in Lancashire to gain a new qualification.
Phillip Thompson, a partner at East Lancashire-based Ramsbottom & Co, has qualified as a specialist in mediation which aims to resolve commercial and family disputes without having to go to court.
"Mediation is relatively new to this country although it is standard practice in America and other European countries," said Mr Thompson.
