A COUPLE who met doing the 'sleazy slide' stepped out in style for their Country and Western wedding at Burnley Register Office.
The American line dance routine at the Railway Club in Rosegrove two years ago led to romance for Derrick Nolan and Janette Reid. And on Saturday it blossomed into marriage.
Derrick, a handyman at Woodside home for the elderly, Padiham, said: "The 'sleazy slide' is a sexy number and we have been together ever since!"
Derrick wore a black suit, white hat and white boots for the marriage.
Janette had a Country and Western-style white satin and lace off-the-shoulder dress with fringes specially made for her.
The couple stopped off for pictures at Gawthorpe Hall in Padiham, an area they often walk, before a reception at Ighten Leigh Club.
In the evening Padiham Town Hall was alive to the sound of line dancing as 150 of the couple's family and friends went boot scootin' to celebrate their nuptials.
Janette is the daughter of Edwin and Jean Peers-Holland, of Waterfoot, and Derrick the son of Denis Nolan of Oswaldtwistle.
Bridesmaids were Susan Muse and Katie and Andrea Nolan, Derrick's daughters, and best man was Alf Muse.
