TO HEAR Stuart had gone made me very sad
He may not have been the greatest player we've had
But he was committed in every way
And for Blackburn Rovers he loved to play.
At Ewood Park he's had six happy years
Many fans held him so dear
The Championship for him was a dream
He gave excellent service to his team.
As fans we've been privileged to watch him play
I only wish he could have stayed
But good or bad, things do move on I'm sure Stuart Ripley will soldier on.
For him to leave no doubt will be sad
But knowing him, he won't take it bad
As well as a sportsman and gentleman
Let's hope for him success will be the plan.
Good luck, Stuart Ripley, in all that you do
You will be missed and that is true
I shall watch with interest his progress there
And for him say a little prayer.
E BANKS, Lincoln Road, Blackburn
