A CALL for a new strategy to help regions like the North West gear up for growth rather than decline was launched by the British Chambers of Commerce.

A new document urged the Government to look further than the South East Yuppieland, and warned policymakers that they could not afford to ignore the North West.

Blackburn Chamber of Commerce director Jim McKinstry said: "We are looking to the future."
