HEALTH watchdogs were shocked and sickened by conditions for the mentally handicapped at Brockhall Hospital in the Ribble Valley.
Burnley Community Health Council were reported to be staggered by the stink of urine and felt the quality of some of the residents' lives was "very poor".
The criticisms came after members of the group visited the hospital, Britain's biggest mental handicap unit.
