BLACK Cat has proved lucky again for Moorhouse Brewery which has scooped another top award for their mild.
CAMRA awarded Black Cat beer third prize in the Champion Beer of Britain 1998 competition and first prize in the mild beer section at their annual festival in London.
Burnley brewery Moorhouse's beat off more than 50 finalists including major national brewers for the prestigious award.
A Moorhouse's spokesman said: "We're flabbergasted. This is wonderful news. It's great to have the recognition of Britain's drinkers."
Ben Wardle, of CAMRA, said: "This proves how beers from small brewers can compete on the national stage. It's a wonderfully distinctive beer with all the qualities a national champion should have."
In May, bottled Black Cat beer was chosen as Champion Dark Beer at the 1998 Brewing Industry International Awards.
Described as having a distinctive chocolate malt flavour, it is available in pubs, clubs and off licences.
