ACCRINGTON Stanley boss Billy Rodaway has continued his summer recruitment drive by completing the signings of Mark Phillips and Terry Brown.

Phillips, a right-sided defender from Prescott Cables, and Brown, a striker from Rochdale, have impressed the Reds boss in the last couple of pre-season friendlies.

Stanley's build up continues tonight with a match against Vauxhall Conference side Southport at the Crown (kick off 7.30pm).

Nelson pair Jonathan Irvine and Glenn Little are once again included in Rodaway's squad as is ex-Morecambe centre back Paul Tomlinson.

Ashley Hoskin, who underwent a cartilage operation in June, could also continue his comeback with a place in the starting eleven.

Rodaway will choose from: Speare, Tomlinson, Little, Phillips, Dowell, Byrne, Procter, Dougherty, Borland, Baines, Welch, Hoskin, Irvine, Brown, Black, Fay, Walker, Fogarty.

Southport from: Stewart, Farley, Ryan, Gouck, Guyett, Bolland, Ross, Butler, O'Reilly, Gamble, Formby, Futcher, Thompson, Whittaker.

Rossendale United are also in action against Morecambe at Dark Lane (kick off 7.30pm) and manager Micky Graham is hoping to welcome back experienced midfielder Neil Perry.

New signing Paul Thompson scored a cracking goal in Ramsbottom United's 3-1 defeat against a Bury XI at The Riverside last night.

But the former Rosendale United striker also missed a first half penalty in between goals by Shakers striker Gary Messer.

Thompson broke clear and produced a cool finish after the break to pull one back but Richard Watson scored a third for the visitors in the last five minutes watched by a crowd of over 300.
