FORMER Manchester City defender John Foster has been handed a three month contract by the Shakers.
Foster, who made most of his appearances for the Blues in the 1994-95 Premier Division campaign has been given the chance to resurrect his career after a series of troublesome injuries restricted his first team chances at Maine Road.
The 24-year-old has impressed boss Neil Warnock in the pre-season games and will be experienced cover for the full back positions, something that the squad has lacked according to Warnock.
Preston North End were just one of a number of clubs interested in signing the locally born player and with Dean West out for the first two months of the campaign he could play a vital role.
