PROMOTION chasing Swinton Lions are hoping to roar back to winning ways.
They were narrowly defeated by Divisiopn One leaders Hull Kingston Rovers at the new Craven Park ground last weekend, but the Lions are back in their own Gigg Lane den on Sunday (August 2) and keen to take two points off Hunslet.
And they could have an additional spring in their step before the game starts at 3pm for late fitness tests on three of their injured players could prove successful.
Tony Barrow seems certain to play for his injured ankle has responded well to treatment and Paul Hulme (ankle) and Mark Welsby (rib) were rated at 50-50 yesterday for getting the nod to resume playing.
Definitely ruled out, though, is Jimmy Vaikoso who was out for the count at Hull after colliding with Jamie Kennedy.
He was badly concussed and although he has recovered without any problems, the rules of the competition forbid him to play until 10 days after the injury was sustained.
Swinton currently occupy fourth place in the division, one point ahead of Hunslet and with a vital game in hand.
