BURY-based Pennine Telecom worked against the clock to help a major Merseyside tourist attraction prepare for a visit by the Queen.
The telecommunications firm has installed a new phone system in readiness for the Royal appointment at the Blue Planet Aquarium today, July 31.
Teams of four engineers worked extra long shifts to ensure the system was in place in time for the Queen's tour of the UK's largest indoor acquarium which occupies a 90,000 sq ft site near Cheshire Oaks shopping village at Ellesemere Port.
Pennine, based in Salford Street, got the call at short notice to fit a phone system with 12 lines and 32 extensions, plus facilities for voice mail and call management.
The Bury company, which is one of the country's largest independent communications specialists, also supplied the cabling for the aquarium's advanced computerised credit card pay system.
