A DRIVER caused a commotion when he tried to drive a 12ft 4in high lorry underneath a 9ft 9in high bridge.
Traffic in Darwen town centre had to be diverted for 50 minutes while police and firemen tried to free a lorry from the railway bridge over Atlas Road. Driver David Armitage, 23, of Sheffield, was unhurt.
