LANCASHIRE postal workers returned to work after strike action in protest over the use of casual help.

But fears of an indefinite strike loomed as 600 postmen in the North West staged further walkouts, along with postmen in Wales.

All workers who took part in the action were sent letters by Post Office management threatening suspension if there were further strikes.
