WORKERS with a Level Three NVQ can expect to earn significantly more than those without the qualification, according to a new Government consultation paper.

The report, by the Department for Education and Employment, is good news for East Lancashire's XTEND Modern Apprentices, according to training body ELTEC.

ELTEC training and education development director Andy Fawcett, said: "It appears that, on average, people with a Level Three NVQ earn 25 per cent more than those who haven't achieved the qualification.

This means that East Lancashire's 2,000 modern apprentices can not only look forward to professional job skills training and a career with prospects, but a competitive salary too."

The majority of young people who complete their Modern Apprenticeships are offered full-time jobs at the end of their training.
