OLD comrades Frank Gomme and Frank Leyland, now living half a world apart, have met up again for the first time in 37 years.

The pair, who were in the TA together (with 436 LAA at the Mill Street volunteer hall) were reunited when Frank Leyland and his wife, Vera, now living in the Falkland Islands, visited Frank Gomme and his wife Marie at the Gommes' home in Florida where they've been resident since 1963.

Both couples originate from the St Helens area.

Naturally, much conversation between the two men centred around their TA exploits. Writes Frank Gomme, who airmailed me the accompanying picture of the Leylands and Gommes getting together again: "We all had a great time and now we are keen on the possibility of a TA reunion some time next year in St Helens."

If any ex-TA members (436 and 596) would like to join in a proposed get-together, Frank invites them to contact Wally Simmons of 58 Rose Avenue, Haydock (tel 01942-711467).
