PRESTON had to settle for a winning draw at West Cliff against Kendal after they lost 10 overs at the start of their innings for rain.

Put in to bat, Preston's opening pair of Paul Richardson and Antony Mann gave them a sound start with an opening partnershop of 38, before Richardson was run out for 18.

Only 4 more runs were added before Antony Mann was caught at deep mid-on by Kendal's professional Ross Veenstra for 20.

Nevertheless, Paul Greenwood and Preston captain Manaj Parekh took the score on to 82 before they both departed.

Then Terry Hunte and Ross Veenstra added 32 runs for the third wicket before the former was caught and bowled by leg-spinner Atul Sachdeva for 17.

Veenstra and Shaun Stuart put on 22 runs for the fourth wicket before the latter was stumped by Paul Mann off Sachdeva for 15.
