THE arrogance of the current leader of Lancaster City Council is something that at times leaves one breathless. How can anyone so closely involved in the Blobbygate disaster and its cover-up have the brass neck upon hearing the utterly devastating news of the job losses at Forbo condemn the management of that firm on the radio for not consulting him and his town hall officials... proven financial whizzkids all of them? His view that had he and his officials been consulted their expertise could have helped to reduce those losses is ridiculous. Two million of lost ratepayers' money is what they should be concentrating on, instead we have our Stanley pandering to his political party line, their inviolate right to run everything without the responsibility for anything. I would remind him it was the Chancellor of his party that put the responsibility for the bank rate that has crippled Forbo and many firms like them into the fix they are in, par for the course looking at his and his Labour colleagues' management at both local and national level.
